Weekend Summary

monday - first day of 5pm shift. and holy cow! I was late! good thing my trainer was good enough not to scold me hahahaha...

tuesday - my shift ends at 1am. I tried sleeping from 3am to 5am but Gel said I was "namamahay" grr! what a bummer! I ended up looking after them and browsing the net thru my phone

wednesday - still same routine. I thought I will be able to sleep because I had headache while discussing mobile plans but to my surprise, I still ended up playing in my bed at the sleeping quarters..

thursday - my wavemate, urville. Was good enough to invite me to try watching movies with the others at the Experience Room. I tried. But, I ended up watching 2 movies until 5am so still no time to sleep.

friday - our wave had some sort of celebration. I don't know if it's because we just finished online courses the entire night or they were just plain generous they invented we should celebrate "friday" since it is a weekender.

to sum it all. a mix of both. I enjoyed watching korean films again. I get to play with xbox and wii (my wishlist) hehehehe

my life's simplest pleasures

my life's simplest pleasures...

1. getting a frappe from starbucks or my javanilla from seattle's



> i have always been a fan of frappes since college. but due to affordability issues, I never had the chance to enjoy my type of frappe.. and now I'm working, after a hard day at work, I always reward myself this beverages once in a while.

2. taking pictures



> i took one class of photojournalism way back in college. i may not have the potential then but i got the interest, that's a good start. I studied and enhance my love for emotions and I used it as my subject for my fortfolios. luckily, my professor notice my determination. (that was my shot using wally's cam)

3. restaurant raids

> my mama used to take us out every sunday after hearing mass. we would always try different restaurants in the city. and that kinda stop when she died. and again, since i started earning my own money, once every two weeks, I try different restaurants, check what they can offer and if I was really enticed, I make sure I compliment them in the smallest way I can get. (with my bestfriends @ shakey's)



4. writing

> talking about my issues has never been my cup of tea. so the writer in me was born. I can write for hours about anything I'm feeling from the food I've eaten, places I'd been to and so on.(my scribbles during training)



5. travel

> i'm a girl who love to try different stuff. from eating to doing something out of the ordinary. fyi, i have always wanted to go somewhere just by myself to think, and to weigh things out. I dream of going to the airport (if i have the money) and just choose from there where I wanted to go. (that was me, with mitch, and ceejay @ capones island in zambales)



6. being with friends

> as much as i value my privacy, going out with my friends is my opium. once in a while, in our busy lives, we manage to see each other from time to time. I'm proud to say my great friends and my friday gurls are the best thing that ever happened to me. ♥wacks♥rachel♥moi♥glaiza♥chean♥



7. massage

> going to the spa on my "alone" time is heaven. I take time choosing which massage would suit me best, and I don't mind paying more than the usual amount just to make sure it's all worth it.



8. slipper keychains

> a self confessed lakwatsera by heart. my souvenirs are slippers with the name of the city engraved on it. (souvenirs from my adventure in tagaytay)



9. books

> i'm not really a wide reader. I just read lifestyle, coffee-table books, pocketbooks just for fun.. nothing serious



10. and lastly.. weddings

> i'm single and not bitter. and attending, planning, and everything about the wedding is uber fun for me. I experienced surrounded by couples in one expo and i never experienced being left out and all alone. but for me, me getting married is far from my mind.. not in the next 10 years! Anawangin, Zambales

me and my team mates along with another team's supervisor and a friend recently went to Anawangin, Zambales for a much needed off. it was a hassle at first going to the lace. we ran out of bus tickets due to miscommunication with the other. so we chanced upon in getting a ticket to Olongapo city and from there, just an hour or less drive to San Antonio.

Fare :
Bus (from victory pasay to olongapo) - Php215.00
baby bus (from olongapo to san antonio) - Php42.00

we rode the tricycle as soon as we arrived in San Antonio and spent around Php30.00/pax to go to Pundaquit.


I was having second thoughts in pushing it through because of the hassles but when I
reached Pundaquit (it's a fishing village in Zambales) it was worth it. a view of a beach never fails to amaze me we rode the banca for an hour (php200 for round trip and extra hundred if you will tour the island/pax)

and then anawangin view.... riding the banca was worth it. I was worried for safety purposes but the whole trip was so serene because of the rock formations, clear water, and fishes joining you.

anawangin is a cove in the town of San Antonio in Zambales. It's a beach with an off
white sand and uber green forest near the shore. It also has a stream behind the forest that flows out to the sea. It also has two cliffs in the north and south.



According to the bankero, northern cliff is higher and not advisable for trekking since it has loose rocks... The southern cliff is easier to climb. One of my team mates tried it and she said it has a great view of the beach and sunset.

Anawangin is not Boracay in terms of development, but that doesn't mean it is boring. you can do bonfire with friends and should bring a guitar so you can sing around it.

I also mentioned about island hopping with the boatman. We tried Capones island. It has this century-old Spanish lighthouse.





Warning : Be cautious, the beach has strong undercurrent at times - we were almost drowned because of it, good thing i have a loud voice it reached people from the shore.

and the good thing about it? We only spent more or less 2k per person!

There are no modern facilities in Anawangin; there are only a couple of toilets (without roofs) and water pumps as sources of running water. Bring lots of drinking water since drinking from the water pump is not safe, and the weather tends to be too hot at around 12 noon. Also bring your own food, there are no hotels and resorts that could prepare meals for you. For sleeping, you have to bring your own tent and pitch it under the forest cover where it is much cooler than by the shore

Single Awareness

Masaya daw maging single. You can do things without asking for somebody’s permission to do this and that. Pero girls, admit it, there were days you wished sana meron.

for me, being single is really fun. It’s more of an adventure. adventure in the sense na if you’re the type of person who’s into experimenting and trying to get to know yourself it is. Mahirap pumasok sa isang relasyon na hindi ka pa handa. Emotionally, physically and even financially. Oo financial. sino ba kasi nagsabi na sila lang ang dapat gumastos eh ang totoo mas malaki na ang suweldo ng mga babae ngayon hahaha.

Minsan lang talaga, tayong mga pinoy, takot sumugal. Gusto palagi play safe. majority wins kumbaga. Pangit tingan na mag isa ka lang manuod ng sine kasi parang ang lungkot mo naman. Hello? pakialam ba ng mundo kung mag isa ka lang manuod. presidente ka ba ng pilipinas? sikat ka ba? At mas marami pang problema sa mundo kesa pansinin ang mga tao na manuod ng sine mag isa. basta nagbayad ka tapos.

eto pa, sa reunions, weddings and even funerals. it’s a sin if you’re already 25 or older, wala ka pa din matatawag na someone. worse, they’d think it’s pathetic choosing your career over someone. gasgas man, hindi ka mapapakain ng pagmamahal kapag nagutom ka.

hay.. wala na nga yatang point ang sinasabi ko. ang akin lang. hayaan niyo kami na maging masaya kung single kami. in the first place, mag isa lang kami nung lumabas kami sa tiyan ng nanay namin, hindi nakadepende sa partners ang kaligayahan ng tao. hindi niyo ba inisip na masaya din namin kami sa desisyon na pinili namin? wala nga kaming matatawag na special someone lalo na pag malamig ang gabi pero may solusyon na diyan, mag kumot,or kung sosyal ka magcomforter ka.

hindi pa ngayon ang oras namin to have someone, kami nga hindi nagmamadali kayo pa. kayo ba ang gagastos sa kasal? kayo ba ang bubuo ng pamilya? hindi di ba?

i have friends na hindi masaya ang buhay since they got married. some were battered, emotionally disturbed and worse, hagdan hagdan ang anak ni hindi nakatapos ng college dahil inuna ang tinatawag na pagibig.

sige nga may partner ka nga, may anak ka nga. pero ikaw? have you tried sleeping in a luxury hotel? have you experienced going to the spa? how about travelling? ilang lugar na ba ang napuntahan mo bukod sa probinsya ng asawa mo? hindi kita minamaliit, pero wag mo akong mamaliitin. may pamilya ka nga, pero wala ka naman mapakain sa anak at asawa mo, while i, have more than that.

have you even tried looking at yourself in the mirror? the last time i saw you, you were handsome even at 16 but now? never mind.

im getting mean. im sorry. im not usually like this. but please. im happy. you’re happy so be it. I have my own dreams to fulfill and you’re no longer part of it.

it was maundy thursday eight years ago when I decided to join this tradition. I was just curious then why people opted to walk for 8 hours and just visit a church then head back home?

It was my tito tam and his bestfriend with ate ging whom I shared my first climb to Antipolo. It was fun because we just talked everything and anything. Despite people not knowing the real meaning of that climb, we managed to reflect.

after seven years, here I am. my tito and his bestfriend is no longer available to accompany me since they live miles away from me. ate just tried it once.

i have my two ate now who makes sure if we have the time, we manage to go to antipolo and pray.

this year, we're just four. me, ate car, ate tin and my soul sister rachel. it was rachel's first time to climb but she did great.

this year i must say was the most solemn prayer i offered. i thanked Him for all the learnings, blessings and even trials He gave me and my family. I think every year becomes more intense as they were before.

on a lighter note, we had fun during the climb. i had che and ate car so what do you expect?

when we reached tikling, i was so surprised by the volume of people. but of course, majority of them were just there to be there not because they have a reason for faith to be there. whew.

we rode the tricycle, went the other way because the main road is no longer serviceable. still with aching feet, imagine the ride...


going home is another problem. we went to angono just to make sure will be able to go home.
